The Book Lady,The Scary Seagull and Gullivers Travels

Nothing like a good, lecture-free friday :) Went to the gym pretty early to work out and learned something a little disappointing. Theres this lady at the gym that always brings a book with her and then reads it while she is spinning, and I have always thought she was so awesome because she kept spinning for ages and ages and ages.. BUT today I was at the bike next to her. As it turns out my hero is a fraud! She doesnt turn up the resistance whatsoever and she doesnt even pedal that fast =/ I guess I will have to look for a new hero at the gym, even if its still kind of funny that she reads while she works out. When I got home I decided to watch some series on the computer, then suddently I saw this huge seagull sitting on my balcony. It was actually kind of scary.. for a seagull that is, like I said it was quite big and it had these huge yellow eyes that doesnt show very well in the picture sadly. I dont get what it was doing in the middle of Frogner - dont seagulls like to stay by the water to eat fish and stuff? I decided I wanted to take a picture of it just for laughs, and I guess that kind of scared it of, both a relief and a disappointment :P But seriously look at the picture - it DOES look out of place, right? Ah well hope it found its way back to the sea.
In the evening it was time for another fieldtrip with The Shadow Project, todays movie was Gullivers Travels in 3D. I guess it had some entertainment value, but it wasnt the best movie I ever saw.. and the 3Dglasses I kept on just so I wouldnt have to see double/triple/whatever, the effects weren't anything special. The story was basicly the classical Gulliver story, but they made it more modern. Like I said it had some entertainment value and several funny little details, but all in all I dont think I would have seen it if I didnt get to go for free because of my membership thingie. Ah well, always fun to go to the movies, and I've never been to Ringen Kino before, was actually pretty nice and modern, and it wasn't too crowded either so tons of space for bags, jackets and so on :)

Easter eggs, school and the Education Fair =)

I know the easter eggs from Freia have been out in the stores for a bit already, but somehow I havent been able to find them in any of my local stores - today, however I finally got me a package at 7eleven, yaay! I know its kind of sad to blog about candy, but its not just any candy.. its the easter eggs!! They are only out in the stores during easter, or well during the commercial easter, wich is obviously a whole lot longer. They taste really really awesome, so its always great when they get to the stores. =)
But hey, I can tell you about my day as well. Was a pretty terrible day at school, as we talked about "technical budgeting" for 4 hours.. I thought I was finally done with the budgeting when I passed Finance and Economic management last semester, but I guess I was wrong. That the guy next to me, that FYI didnt even pay attention to the lecture whatsoever (!!!!!!!), understood everything in a matter of seconds didnt make things better either. Im such an idiot when it comes to calculations and stuff like that its not even funny.. but I will just have to study real hard for the final I guess, and I have learned about budgets 2 times before, so I really should be able to pass it at the very least this time arround. As it turns out its normal for 50% of the final in Practical Economics and Business Management to be about budgets, so yay.. another "kill me now" period before the finals this semester I guess. School wasn't all bad though, the Nescafe van was outside our main entrance and they gave away hot cofee for free :) After school I went to meet with Luna, and we went to the Education Fair at Oslo Spektrum. Im pretty sure I wont really apply to yet another university anytime soon, but Luna is done with her degree in Asian languages soon and she needs something smart to combine with. I told her International Marketing is a win, but she would rather study at another school rather than BI. We also went to TT and got me everything I need to make my own maki, so now Im ready to roll! ^^ Now to start on my mandatory digital test in Practical Economics and Business Management.. damn that subject is going to be such a pain :P

Risk

Today me and my friend Nicolai had planned on watching The Big Bang Theory, but somehow my DVD-player and my external hard drive dont love eachother anymore (I think its because the hard drive had an affair with my laptop) and now they refuse to work together.
We decided to play some Risk instead. It was kind of cool, though its even more fun when your 6 people playing it rather than just 2. We decided we have to plan a Risk night with some of our friends soon, we used to do that all the time last winter, but somehow it just randomly stopped. Playing Risk with Nicolai is kind of awfull, because somehow he almost always rolls a 6, and hes also really good at tactics, while Im more "OH NOOO NOT JAPAN, JAPAN IS MINE, I'LL WIN IT BACK" and then loose because I dont really think things over, haha. Also, I have now worked out 6 times in february, half my way to the Friskis & Svettis beanie - yay me! I only worked out for about half an hour today though - OD'ed on cofee yesterday so I didnt really sleep much, ah well as long as I got a sticker its all good :)

Valentines sushi

So today was Valentines day, and to most people that means being romantic, meet with that special someone, buy chocolate, and so on.
My friends and I have our own little tradition though, we meet up and make sushi.
I got to say, I like our tradition better - it takes all the pressure away, and we get to eat tons of good food. This year we went to Lunas friend, Marias place, made unlikely amounts of maki and watched asian music videos on youtube. I think Im going to buy my own thingie to roll maki on.. trimming? It wasnt as hard as I thought to roll them, and now I want to just make tons and tons of maki.. haha.

That sounds so wrong!
But it hit me today as I was on my way out of the gym, Ive actually worked out 4 times this week.. and at least one hour each time! Kind of made me think "damn who are you and where did the old me go?".
You know that kid.. who always finished last and just never really kept up with the rest of the class on athletics test and stuff like that in high school? Im that kid.. at least I think I am, at this point who knows.. Am I becoming one of those crazy people that go to the gym every day and work out for hours and hours? Sure I want to be healthy and be happy with the way I look, but I dont want to end up as some workout fanatic.
Anyhow things are looking good for the february contest, or at least I have a plan to manage working out more than 12 times. I worked out 4 times this week, if I can do that for two more weeks thats 13 times, and if you work out more than 13 times you have a chance of winning 1000 NOK - thats not insane thats just wanting to win cash.
I must still be the good old lazy me, I just want a silly Friskis & Svettis beanie and the chance of winning money :) After the contest is over I'll probably just collapse and go back to working out 1-2 times a week. And hey in the meantime I work out enough to actually get really good results, I GUESS its a good thing - it just makes no sense that Im doing this, considering how I used to hate working out or well any physical activity at all. I even quit drinking cola (except during the weekend and other special occasions), and anyone that knows me will agree thats just.. insane!! Then again, why am I even complaining about this? If Im loosing the old cocaholic, computer game loving me to someone that likes to workout and take care of her body I guess its not really a bad thing.. is it? I dont know Im just surprised I guess.

Aaaand its winter again =/

Got to say, even if this happens every year, its really really annoying how it seems like spring is just arround the corner one day - and then the next day it starts snowing again! About a week ago my friend Kaja and I decided to drink cofee outside, because it was so nice and sunny.. and warm!
Now we're back on the wrong side of 0 degrees, and the wind makes it a million times worse. The only place thats warm in Oslo during the winter is the insanely crowded bus - today the timer went down to "now" about 3-4 times to then go back up to 5 minutes.. I would have made it home quicker if I walked. Then when the bus finally came, the crowd waiting at the bus stop was the size of 3-4 buses. We actually looked rather like a bunch of penguins standing there in the snow and the wind. And then of course when I got off the bus.. I saw another one just behind it, empty! So to everyone living in Oslo - learn from my mistake: The number 20 buses travel in packs, never get on the first one during rush hour! This also normally goes for bus number 31. Ah well people, the spring SHOULD hopefully get here for real next time, or the next time after that, or after that... you know, whenever it feels like it. Untill then, heres a song that made me at least a little happier while waiting for the bus. Hang in there, spring will get here eventually :)

Beads

Today the plan was to have Maja, Lene and Luna over for dinner or boardgames or basicly whatever. Maja read about Stian beading nintendo figures in my blog and decided she wanted to buy her own beads - we ended up going to the toy store and buy 7 colors each. We also went to Clas Olson and found matching toolboxes to keep the beads in :) Being childish is really awesome sometimes! We beaded for hours and hours, me, Maja (Lene had to leave) and Luna as well after a bit. We were pretty lazy and ordered food from spice - good food though, and came with free cutlery so why not. Maja made the figures from totoro, I tried to make a hattifnatt from Moomin and we all made tons and tons of mushrooms that looked just like the one Stian made for me, only in different colors. Amazing how much fun it is to bead stuff, havent done this since kindergarden.. untill now ^^
